Rep. Wismer Presents Changes She Would Bring to the Governor's Office During KELOLAND Debate

Press Release

Rep. Susan Wismer, Democratic candidate for Governor, presented her ideas and the changes she would bring to the Governor's office at tonight's KELOLAND gubernatorial candidate debate. She talked about her support for an increase in the minimum wage, expanding Medicaid, and improving how economic development is managed. Rep. Wismer also spoke about making education a top priority and taking care of the well-run state we were once handed by previous generations.

Rep. Wismer gave the current administration's efforts to fund education a failing grade. "If we're expecting our schools to do good things, we need to be prepared to invest in them," stated Rep. Wismer after the Governor blamed local school boards for decisions made regarding funding and teacher pay.

Wismer, a small business owner and member of the State House of Representatives from Britton, also talked about the need to respect education and the need for balance in Pierre.

"This administration continues to brag about their last place effort in funding education," said Rep. Wismer. If elected Governor, Rep. Wismer says she will change the tone of the conversation so that education is a top priority in Pierre.

This was the final debate for all gubernatorial candidates.
